Goodbye Japan! Its been great.

Our last meal in Japan was good. The girls were very hungry pre-dinner so I served up Edamame which they inhaled, followed by a ciabatta roll. Then it was time for the main meal: Japanese Miso Fish (I used wild cod, the recipe said chilean sea bass). Accompanying the fish was brown rice and steamed garlic broccoli and baby corns.

The kids weren't fans of the fish. Not sure why, It was pretty good, though the marinade wasn't out-of-this world. The fish was very good, however. So, we are packing up and leaving Japan. It's been an interesting week...
  1. We started experimenting again with new recipes
  2. The girls were intrigued with the whole concept of being in another country
  3. Found the Miso Paste! Now we need to figure out what else to make with it.
  4. There were a few meals that we will definately repeat again someday if we ever get back to Japan:)
  5. Elie doesn't like to stray much from our basic normal. Being out of her comfort zone is a good thing!
  6. Katy is sad to leave Japan
  7. We Skyped our relatives in Japan tonight and watched our baby Hazel eating Macaroni & Cheese. It struck us funny:)
  8. Managed to use up a bottle of Mirin, soy sauce and lots of rice. No wonder I'm retaining water...
  9. Purchased 5 lbs. of Mozzerella today for our trip to Italy
  10. 1 week down, 51 to go!  If we make it to 10 weeks, I will be proud. Just sayin'...
So we're off to Italy. It will be an easy week. No frills. Keeping it simple so we can encourage the kids to keep up the thrill of dining in different countries.
