Cold Lazy Night.

Is it just me or does lazy hit you on Thursday nights? It must be the go go go all week long and the thought that you're a day away from the weekend that makes you pause. Don't get me wrong, I had a mountain of clothes to fold, timed perfectly with Grey's Anatomy and The Practice (thank goodness you can stream them in Italy). So, tonight was always going to be leftovers night. I could have made another meal but then we would have been wasting food. I mean really, we had a slice of lasagna left, 3 calzones, and a container of Italian Beef just waiting to be eaten.

So the Italian beef is now gone (was a little mushy 2nd time around), we're down a Calzone and the bread is gone (I hid last bit of focaccia so Elie can have it in her lunch tomorrow, otherwise Hannah would have snagged it). Do you have food strategies in your household? We're not too bad but there are a few things one must hide to have the chance of consuming it. Pecan Pie rings a bell at Thanksgiving...

We are nearing the end of our week in Italy. Everyone is relaxed and not worried about the meals. Italians definately know what comfort food is. And on a cold winters night in January, Italy is the perfect place to be.
